What is Claremont Youth
Basketball?
Claremont Youth Basketball, or CYB, is
an organization for boys and girls from 1st grade to 8th grade.
The players are divided up by their school grade, not their age.
The organization provides a CLINIC for the 1st/2nd
graders to learn and build their fundamentals over 7-8 weeks of
training. The last two weeks include games for the players to put
what they've learned in competition to build them for the coming years.
The clinic is led by Rick Duque, a former Div. 3 All-Star player at
local Pomona-Pitzer College, as well as the present head basketball
coach at The Webb Schools in Claremont. Please read more about our

The 3rd through 8th graders play in our LEAGUE.
Usually, the leagues are combined into 2-year groupings (3rd/4th,
5th/6th, 7th/8th). There are usually ten games, with practices
beginning in November, and the season beginning in December. The
season ends in March with playoffs and all-star competitions.
Registration is usually held a couple weeks after the
Claremont Unified School District begins the new school year. We
