Dear CYB Family,

 

We hope this finds you and your families safe, healthy, and staying positive. This year has certainly been challenging to all of us on many levels and we hope you all have a network of support to keep you and your kids happy through all that 2020 has brought. 

 

The CYB Board of Directors has continued to meet virtually throughout our off-season to stay connected and strategize how we will handle the upcoming 2020/21 CYB Season. We feel very fortunate to have been able to complete our 2019/20 Season before the shelter in place orders were issued. We have been connected in to the Claremont Youth Sports Committee, local and national guidelines, as well as neighboring youth basketball organizations as we evaluate how to handle this year given the current state of the COVID-19 pandemic. The safety of our players and their families has been the primary concern and consideration as we have deliberated. 

 

As such, it is with a heavy heart that I am announcing that CYB will not be running a 2020/21 CYB Season. 

 

CYB is continuing to meet and plan for a possible CYB Summer 2021 program. CYB values the contribution we are making to youth sports and basketball in Claremont and the surrounding areas. We recognize that for all of our rising 8th and 12th graders this is a milestone year. CYB would like to be able to deliver a basketball experience for everyone but especially for those kids who may be reaching the end of their basketball careers. 

 

Please feel free to reach out to CYB with any questions, concerns, or comments. The CYB Board is happy to help and will address your input as best we can. Check the website and look for future emails regarding a Summer 2021 CYB program. Finally, encourage your kids to reconnect with their basketball at home. Dribble around the block, pass with a parent or sibling, track your makes. Basketball is unique in its ability to be both a team and individual sport. 

Stay safe. Wear a mask. Wash your hands. Keep your distance. And remember, we are in this together!
