WHAT EVERYONE NEED TO KNOW ABOUT EVALUATION DAY:
There are two evaluation days this year, YOU ONLY NEED TO ATTEND ONE:
Sunday Oct 23
Saturday Oct 29
LOCATION: El Roble Outdoor Courts
BOYS DIVISIONS (B1, B2, B3): 9 am - 10:30 am (arrive by 8:30 am)
GIRLS DIVISIONS (G1, G2): 10:30 am - 12 pm (arrive by 10 am)
NOTE: CYB3 (high school) and Clinic (1st and 2nd graders) DO NOT NEED TO ATTEND THE EVALUATION DAY
We recognize folks have various other commitments so CYB has changed the Evaluation Day scheduling a bit to accommodate folks with conflicts on either Sat or Sun. Please choose the day that works for you!!
WHAT COACHES NEED TO KNOW:
CYB is changing the process this year in your favor!
Official evaluations be conducted and performed by CYB Board Members and Commissioners. You are not obligated to perform the standard numerical evaluation of a player and submit to the commissioner for compilation and use in the draft.
However, ALL coaches should attend both Evaluation Days!!! This is a critical part of drafting well and building a good team.
There is valuable information that can only be seen with the eye and not related via a numerical rating. You will be provided the CYB generated rating ahead of the draft (first 2 weeks in November) but are encouraged to attend the evaluation days and take notes on your own for your own use.
WHAT EVERYONE NEED TO KNOW:
Players who do not attend Evaluation Day (and therefore do not have a rating assigned to them) will be RANDOMLY ASSIGNED TO A TEAM after all rated players are drafted. CYB is taking a stronger stand on this approach this year. Ratings will not be assigned to players who do not attend the Evaluation Day.
ALL PLAYERS WILL BE PLACED ON A TEAM!!! But if you are not evaluated you will be randomly assigned at the end of the draft.
PROCESS: Up to 10 players will be evaluated every 15-20 minutes for a total of up to 30 players per
hour. Players will be evaluated during 5-10 minutes of drills for Shooting, Dribbling, Passing, Sprints-
forward and backward and then 10-15 minutes 5 on 5 scrimmage using the full courts.
